Marble was one of the favorite stone of the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans.

During the Renaissance it was again employed to build massive structures and adorn the palaces and churches of prominent cities all over Europe. A great material for classic formal settings such as terraces and formal gardens.

Danby marble is sourced in nearby Vermont and there are many other souces in the North East.
